Atomic EV is New Zealand’s authorised retailer and service centre for Meepo boards, so we handle repairs and warranty claims on the boards we sell.
Electric skateboards are motorised versions of the ever popular longboard and cruiser skateboards, with a wireless handheld control for adjusting speed. They typically come with road and/or all-terrain tyres and choice of either hub motor (within wheel) or belt-driven (external) motor.
Electric skateboards are easy to learn, even for those that have no skateboarding experience, and always fun to ride.

Protective Gear
As with all personal electric vehicles protective gear should always be worn while riding. At a minimum a helmet and wrist protection is essential at all times. Knee and elbow pads are also recommended.
At higher speeds a full-face helmet and abrasion resistant armoured clothing is also recommended.
Learning to Ride a Board
Electric skateboard riding can be picked up quickly, and comes quite naturally for those with skateboard experience, provided some precautions are taken.
Atomic EV offers free demos in our shop and around our shopping centre, where you can test ride a range of electric skateboards in a safe environment regardless of the weather, or borrow some to take out along the shared pathway next to our shop. For customers that want more support we also offer an introductory training session that covers the basics of riding, board safety and maintenance, and provides an opportunity to get hands-on experience across a range of our popular boards in a safe environment.
