We are a New Zealand owned company with the largest range of personal electric vehicles (PEVs) in the country. We are NZ’s authorised reseller and service centre for the world’s leading and most innovative brands. We distribute a comprehensive range of protective gear and accessories, from skateboard pads and mountain bike gear through to AAA-certified motorcycle protective apparel.
Our Mission
We aim to make last mile transport easier and more fun by supporting very efficient personal electric vehicles, not only their sale but also servicing, advice, training and building a great community of users.
We take customer safety seriously, offering only quality PEVs from reputable brands, and have sourced the best protective gear internationally. We place a strong emphasis on products that have approved safety certifications.
We are proud to support and help promote other innovative New Zealand companies that manufacture PEVs, including Mavic Brothers electric skateboards and Manta5 hydrofoil bikes.
Also we understand that prices need to be competitive. At Atomic EV we import the vast majority of our brands ourselves directly from manufacturers, distribute, retail and service products ourselves, to eliminate supply chain markup. Where possible we try to provide the best available products and match prices people in Europe and North America pay. When our manufacturers offer promotions or preorder discounts we pass the savings along to our customers.

Origins of Atomic EV
Atomic EV started out of disappointment with current options in New Zealand for “last mile transport”: traffic congestion, parking costs, unreliable and inefficient public transport, insecure facilities for parking bikes, and poor range and safety gear for e-scooters.
We were also tired as consumers ourselves of buying discontinued gear, often with no real safety ratings, dumped locally at inflated prices, or paying crazy international shipping costs in the hope that gear will fit and work well when it finally arrives.
Come visit us
Come stop by our Orakei shop in Auckland, described by many of our customers as their favourite place to visit:
- By train, take the first stop from Downtown Auckland on the Eastern line, and we’re on the main (street) level of Orakei Bay Village directly across from the Orakei train station.
- By foot its 70 minutes along Tamaki drive and Ngapipi road from Downtown Auckland.
- By PEV or bike there’s a cycleway along Tamaki drive (soon to be extended along Hobson Bay to connect directly with Orakei Bay Village), and a stunning shared path from Glen Innes. Orakei Bay Village has lockable bike racks at the lower carpark next to the stairs or elevator to the main (street) level. At high tide the Orakei Bay Village jetty in Hobson Bay is accessible via eFoil.
- By public bus Orakei Bay Village is on route 781 which runs between Auckland Museum/Newmarket and Mission Bay/Kohimarama. Alternatively from the Tamaki link Ngapipi bus stop its a 20 minute walk.
- By car from the Southern Motorway take the Greenlane exit, and from the Northern Motorway take either the Port or the Market road exit. We have plenty of free parking.
We are located within the main mall at Orakei Bay Village, 228 Orakei Road. The mall is pet and PEV friendly, and has some of the best coffee and food in Auckland. There are also shops to distract those friends and family that don’t yet appreciate PEVs.
From the entrance at the street level carpark go inside the mall and follow the signs through to Farro. From the lower carpark go up the stairs or take the elevator to enter the mall. Our Orakei shop is directly opposite the Farro entrance within the mall.
We keep an extensive range of electric skateboards and electric unicycles in the shop which you can try for free, and display some of New Zealand’s largest range of eFoils. We encourage you to try on any of our protective gear for yourself in our shop to check for fit and comfort before purchasing.
Although it is always preferable to try in person, for those that are unable to visit our shop we offer free delivery across New Zealand.
