Dr Chris Leatt started working on a neck brace in 2001 to reduce injuries in helmeted sports, and founded the South African Leatt company in 2005. Since then Leatt has grown to become a leading manufacturer worldwide of moto and mountain bike protective gear.
The Leatt Gravity helmets offers the protection of full-face helmets at a range of prices to meet most budgets. The Leatt dual-axis knee and shin guards are the most popular knee protection choice for PEV riders.
Please note that unlike most of our brands we source Leatt from a New Zealand distributor rather than directly from the manufacturer ourselves. The New Zealand Leatt distributor had a major warehouse fire in December 2023 and so the New Zealand Leatt stock is very limited with many models/sizes are unavailable until they replenish their warehouse stock.
In particular the Leatt Gravity helmet range is largely unavailable across NZ during 2024, with most of the remaining Gravity helmets only available through Atomic EV.

Atomic EV is an authorised reseller for the Leatt mountain bike range of protective gear, which is particularly suited for most PEV riders. Although some of our range is also available at other NZ websites, Atomic EV holds extensive stock in store for customers to try for correct fit and comfort, and our regular prices are more competitive than most sale prices elsewhere.
Leatt Warranty
Leatt provide a minimum one-year warranty on their gear, excluding normal wear. Leatt are now also trialing a helmet replacement programme, where damaged helmets can be replaced at 40% discount on the recommended retail price. Just contact us for further information.
