Smart BMS system

The S16 and S16 Pro have a new generation of BMS intelligent battery management system, multiple protection, real-time monitoring of battery safety:

• Short circuit protection.
• Double protection from over-discharging.
• Overcurrent protection.
• Temperature protection.
• Double protection from overcharging.
• Abnormal humidity protection.

There are two battery options:

• the Samsung 50GB battery pack which is used in the S16,
• the high-discharge Samsung 50S battery pack used in the S16 Pro more commonly sold into the North American markets.

The 50GB packs are the more cost effective option, whereas the 50S is chosen instead for more demanding riding situations where a higher maximum current might be required to avoid cut out risks, allowing a higher maximum speed but slightly reduced range.
